On the 23rd of July, 2006, Preston WALDNER was swimming at Paradise Beach, South Saskatchewan River, when he and another fellow were attempting to swim across the river. The boys got part way across when they ran into trouble due to the very strong current of the river. The one fellow was pulled from the river and survived, however WALDNER was seen going under and he never resurfaced. A search was conducted but WALDNER has not been located.
