On the 18th of June, 1983, William FOSSENEUVE, Raymond SEWAP and Agnes SEWAP set out from Sturgeon Weir on Amisk Lake for Denare Beach by boat. The water became rough and FOSSENEUVE fell into the water. Raymond SEWAP entered the water to rescue FOSSENEUVE. Agnes SEWAP saw both men submerge under the water, never seeing them again.
